Sam Barratt is Chief of Youth, Education and Advocacy at UN Environment Programme. He is responsible for the sports portfolio at UNEP, working on the Volvo Ocean Race’s Clean Seas sailing team and now leading on the Sport for Nature initiative with the IOC and IUCN.
In addition, he leads on working with governments and higher education to integrate sustainability and a green skills component into the formal education system as well as with sports, the video games industry and the youth movements to reinforce this agenda through non-formal education and their ability to reach billions of people.
Previously Sam worked as Chief of Public Advocacy for UNEP, Director of Communications for Avaaz and the Head of Press for Oxfam.
