Ayano Suga leads the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins’ social responsibility initiative “Dolphins Smile” with the “Off-court 3-Point” concept that categorises the UN Global Goals into the three Ps – Planet, People, and Peace – and has contributed to developing the Dolphins Smile as one of the top-tier initiatives of the B LEAGUE (Japanese pro basketball).
She works on the emission measurement of the Dolphins, the first Japanese sports organization that joined Race to Zero, and is also active in engaging fans with players’ posters and messages, which changed the mindset of about eighty per cent of their fans to commit to using low-carbon means to come to the arena.
Before joining the Dolphins, Ayano has worked with some B LEAGUE clubs in Japan after working as buyer and store manager in Tokyo. As a mother of a 2-year-old son, she is a role model for young female professionals in Japanese sports industry.
