Pete has worked in sports development, management and projects since 1974 beginning his career in his home city of Manchester.
Having worked in major projects and events in the UK and overseas, Pete built on his skills, experience and education in Sport,
Teaching, Management and Sociology, recognising the opportunity to work in sport and leisure initiatives that positively change lives,
promote regeneration, increase participation and inclusion and that in every aspect – Lift life above the norm.
At Manchester City, Pete has developed his skills and enthusiasm to support business and projects
from community and neighbourhood engagement; the building and delivery of major capital infrastructure – bringing all of
these valuable lessons and experiences to bear in his current role as Head of Sustainability –influencing and supporting
best and responsible practices across all activity”
Worked at Manchester |City for almost 20 years, previously Venues GM for the Manchester Commonwealth Games and had worked
in several local authorities in Manchester, London and overseas in sports management and development.
Manchester City fan since his first game in 1963, grew up and educated in the city and published author ‘Rise and Rise Again– A Birley legacy’
