SPORT POSITIVE ’24 VIRTUAL SUMMIT – Tickets Now Available
Read on to see what is included and register.
Access to Content
The main plenary room will be live streamed and recorded. This will include include the opening and closing keynotes, as well as the Sports for Climate Action Framework ‘Climate Labs’ that will take place across the Summit. You can see on the agenda pages here which sessions are being recorded (the ones denoted with REC and small camera icon).
All content that is recorded is then available to watch after the Summit for three months, with the exception of workshops and roundtables, which will take place under Chatham House Rules and therefore will not be captured.
Note that this means there are times in the programme where virtual attendees will not have content to join/watch. We recommend you use this time to network with other virtual attendees, or take a break.
Summit sessions need to be captured and uploaded to our event app, so recordings will only be available one week after the Summit, you will be notified when they are available and you will then have 3 months to access them any time.
Time Zones
The Summit is taking place in London and therefore live-streamed content will show in British Summer Time (UTC+1).
If you are not in a time zone that is close to this, you may find it difficult to watch the Summit sessions live; but you will be able to access the recordings 1 week after the Summit.
For networking, you can set your calendar in Brella to your local time zone, to avoid confusion of when you might be having online meetings with colleagues, we suggest you update this as soon as you join the event app.
Connecting with Global Colleagues
As part of the Summit, all attendees registering will be encouraged to add their details into our event app/virtual platform BRELLA for networking. You will be able to see if colleagues are attending the Summit in-person, or online.
You will be able to see information about attendees’ affiliations and interest areas, making it easier to find global colleagues you wish to connect with. Setting up meetings couldn’t be easier, and all can use the chat function to just connect and chat or set up a 1-2-1 meeting.
Please note: we actively encourage all in-person attendees to use the event app/virtual platform (and have seen 85%+ take up in previous years) but it is not mandatory.
Due to GDPR data privacy restrictions, we cannot share information on attendees if they choose not to share it themselves, or an attendee list.
Arrange 1-2-1 Meetings with Attendees
Virtual meeting slots will be available for all attendees who add themselves on or virtual event platform.
Brella takes all the legwork out of arranging those meetings, with attendees completing their calendar availability when they register.
As a virtual attendee you will be able to see all attendees who add themselves to the platform (both in person and virtual), message them and arrange virtual meetings, however to optimise delegates’ time, it will not be possible to arrange these virtual meetings with those attending in person on the Summit dates (8-9 October), but excepting these two days, you can plan meetings from 1 October – 15 October. You can of course arrange meetings with other virtual attendees on 8-9 October.
Access Not Included to BBC Green Sports Awards or UN Sports for Climate Action Framework AGM
The BBC and UN Sports for Climate Framework streams are not included in the main Summit programme, nor our virtual output. If you are a signatory to UN SfCA and joining remotely, you will receive details to livestream that separately. You do not need to register for Sport Positive Summit 2024 to gain access. BBC Green Sports Awards have no current plans to stream their Awards this year.
Connect with our Sponsors and Partners
Information about our partners and sponsors will be available via the Brella app, helping you learn more and connect with solution providers and colleagues that can help you on your sustainability journey.
The partners we work with are experts in the space and already work with lots of sports organisations like you, we recommend you get in touch and connect with them to see how they can help you, or share information that may help evolve your thinking
Managing Expectations
We encourage people to register to enjoy the Summit virtually who want to listen and learn from plenary content, and connect with global colleagues.
At Sport Positive we want to keep the virtual element of the Summit as a way for those who can’t or choose not to travel to continue to be part of the community. However as a small team with limited resources, we can’t livestream everything and can’t provide an entirely separate agenda for those joining online.
So as a virtual attendee, you are getting a scaled back version of attending in person. We also cannot guarantee you will connect with every individual who joins the Summit as some people who attend in person may choose not to download the Summit app, that is their choice.
