Dr Jessica Murfree is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sport Management, and an Accountability, Climate, Equity, and Scholarship (ACES) Faculty Fellow at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on the effects of climate change on sport, namely the social and legal implications of extreme weather and climate risks, as well as environmental injustices faced by historically marginalized groups in sport and recreation. Her research has informed organizations like the UNICEF’s Global Youth Network Summit on Sports for Climate Action, Texas A&M Athletics, Climate Week NYC, the Green Sports Alliance, and Ocean Conservancy. Her work coincides with membership in the Sport Ecology Group and the Sustainability Committee for the North American Society for Sport Management.
